Comic Art Competition

The competition is open to pupils and students attending school, or to individuals. There are separate entry forms below for each case. Please be aware that if you are a student who will be attending school on the days of the workshops, you must enter via your school, have your teacher sign your entry form, and gain school permission for your attendance should you win.

The winning pieces of comic art will be displayed alongside professional comic art from some of the best artists in the comic industry at an exhibition being held in the Verbal Arts Centre. The winners will also be invited to take part in a workshop with the comic creators.

Prizewinners from primary schools will attend one of the two special workshops on Thursday 19th April hosted by the comic artist Kev F Sutherland, who has worked on comics such as The Beano, Star Trek and Ghost Rider.

Prizewinners from post-primary schools, colleges and universities will be invited to take part in one of the workshops on Friday 20th April hosted by a selection of our esteemed guest artists and writers.

The first prize winners from each age group will receive a signed piece of comic art. The exhibition will run from Thursday 19th April to Saturday 21st April. The closing date for entries will be Friday 6th April and the winners will be announced on Monday 16th April.
